  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent arrived at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin, Australia to participate in Exercise Pitch Black 2024, a biennial multi-national exercise hosted by the RAAF from July 12 to August 2.
  • This edition of Exercise Pitch Black is the largest in its 43-year history, with participation from 20 countries, involving over 140 aircraft and 4400 military personnel, focusing on Large Force Employment warfare and enhancing international cooperation.
  • The IAF contingent, consisting of over 150 Air Warriors, will be operating Su-30 MKI multirole fighters along with C-17 Globemaster and IL-78 Air-to-Air Refuelling aircraft, providing a platform for force integration, mutual exchange of best practices, and strengthening aviation associations in the Indo-Pacific region.
