The 14th edition of the India–Thailand joint military exercise Maitree-XIV began with an opening ceremony at the Joint Training Node (JTN) in Umroi, Meghalaya. The exercise will run from 1 to 14 September 2025 as part of the two nations’ military exchange programme to improve cooperation, coordination, and understanding between the Indian Army and the Royal Thai Army. Started in 2006, Maitree has become an important element of defence ties between India and Thailand. The last edition was held in Tak Province, Thailand.
