  • Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s first aluminium freight rake at Bhubaneswar railway station.
  • The First Aluminum Freight Rake – 61 BOBRNALHSM1, was flagged off by the minister and the rake’s destination is Bilaspur.
  • These racks have been prepared with the help of RDSO, BSCO and Hindalco.
  • This rake is lighter than before but has a higher freight carrying capacity.
  • The life of aluminum rack is also 10 years more than normal rack, which also has lower maintenance cost as it has more resistance to corrosion and abrasion.
