Oman took the lead in the 55th minute, but Udanta Singh scored a crucial equalizer for India in the 80th minute. The winner was decided by a penalty shootout, where India triumphed 3-2. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu starred in the shootout, saving three penalties from Oman and ensuring India’s victory. This win holds special significance for India, as they defeated a higher-ranked Oman team (79th in FIFA rankings) while India is ranked 133rd.
