After more than three decades, Gujarat has regained its status as a tiger-present state, with the National Tiger Conservation Authority confirming a tiger’s presence in Ratanmahal Wildlife Sanctuary, Dahod. First captured on a camera trap in February, the tiger has now settled in the forest. Gujarat will be included in the 2026 national tiger census, marking a major conservation milestone and making it the only state where lions, tigers and leopards coexist.
