  • Recently, a Guinness World Record was created by lighting 22 lakh lamps in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
  • These 22 lakh lamps were lit on the banks of Saryu river.
  • A new world record was created for lighting a large number of lamps simultaneously at one place.
  • 25 thousand volunteers were deployed to light these 22 lakh lamps.
  • These 22 lakh lamps were lit at 51 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of river Saryu.
  • Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized Ayodhya's achievement, using drones to count the lamps.
  • In the year 2022, 17 lakh lamps were lit.
