  • A 52-year-old banker from Odisha has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank of Baroda (BoB).
  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Debadatta Chand as the MD and CEO of Bank of Baroda (BoB).
  • His appointment is for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of office on or after July 1, 2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
  • Sanjiv Chadha, the incumbent MD and CEO of BoB, is set to retire on June 30, 2023.
  • He was appointed as Executive Director of Bank of Baroda and assumed charge on March 10, 2021.
  • He started his career in Allahabad Bank as Officer in 1994 and subsequently worked as Manager in Small Industries Development Bank of India [SIDBI] from 1998 to 2005.
