  • The Board of Directors of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) has elected Bharti Airtel's Vice President and Managing Director Gopal Vittal as its new chairman until the end of 2026, on March 24, 2025. 
  • Vittal is the second Indian to be elected as chairman of the GSMA board, following Sunil Bharti Mittal, representing global telecom operators and handset companies.
