Goa received the 'Best Destination of the Year' award at the ITB Berlin conference, which was given by the Pacific Area Travel Writers' Association.
Sanjeev Ahuja, the Tourism Secretary of Goa, expressed his happiness over receiving the prestigious award and stated that it encourages the state to enhance tourist facilities.
Beyond its famous beaches, Goa has been focusing on improving tourism infrastructure and promoting local festivals, culture, and cuisines, involving local communities in the process.
