General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of the Army Staff, has been appointed Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (CSC).
The post of CSC chairman was lying vacant after the death of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat.
General Manoj Mukund Naravane, the most senior of the three army chiefs, has been assigned to this position.
COSC is a group made up of the chiefs of the three services that works to ensure that operations and other matters are coordinated amongst them.
