  • Exercise 'Eastern Sky' is being conducted by the Indian Air Force from October 30 to November 5.

  • Exercise Eastern Sky is a comprehensive exercise which showcases the capabilities and readiness of the Eastern Air Command.
  • Indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft 'Tejas' has been deployed for the first time in the eastern region of India.
  • The exercise includes offensive and defensive operations, aerial reconnaissance and quick response to various threats, all of which are being conducted both day and night.
  • These highlight the Indian Air Force's ability to operate in diverse situations.
  • There are currently 5 commands in the Indian Air Force.
  • The headquarters of its Eastern Command is located in Shillong, Meghalaya.
