The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed former DGP Raj Kumar Vishwakarma as the new Chief Information Commissioner of the state.
Vishwakarma is a 1988 IPS batch officer who retired last year, having served as the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board.
The state government has also appointed 10 Information Commissioners of Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Vishwakarma as an expert in matters of governance and governance management.
