  • Thomas Pucadyil has been named the new Director of BRIC-National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune.
  • He is a renowned cell biologist and was previously Professor at IISER Pune.
  • Pucadyil is known for his research on membrane-disrupting proteins in cells.
  • He is the recipient of the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize (2018).
  • He succeeds interim Director Manisha Inamdar; earlier Additional Director was Sharmila Bapat.
  • NCCS focuses on advanced research in cell biology, cancer, infectious diseases, immunology, and stem cells.
