· Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu conferred the Assam Government's biennial popular Gopinath Bordoloi Award for National Integration and National Contribution at a special function in Guwahati.
· The award carries five lakh rupees, a citation, and an Angbastram.
· The award has been given to the Shillong Chamber Choir at Shrimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, German-based Assamese litterateur Dr Nirod Kumar Barua, and the Assam branch of the Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust.
