Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, chaired a high-level meeting at MY Bharat Headquarters in New Delhi and announced the mobilisation of over 1,000 NDMA-trained ‘MY Bharat Aapda Mitras’ to support relief operations in flood-affected Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. These trained youth volunteers will deliver supplies and essential services to remote villages, assist in rehabilitation, and coordinate closely with district administrations to ensure timely action. Launched in 2023, the Aapda Mitra programme equips youth with NDMA-certified training in disaster response, including search and rescue, first aid and emergency coordination.
