  • Burkina Faso's Berlin-based architect Diebdo Francis Kéré has become the first African and the first black person to receive the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Award.
  • Pritzker Prize is the highest and most prestigious honour in architecture field, founded in 1979.
  • Francis Kere is the 51st winner of the award and the first Black person to receive the honour.
  • Diebedo Francis Kéré is also the recipient of the 2004 Aga Khan Prize for Architecture.
