  • Devendra Jhajharia, a two-time Paralympic gold medallist, has received the honour of being elected as the new President of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI).
  • He won gold medals in the F46 disability category at the 2004 Athens and 2016 Rio Paralympics.
  • Former Paralympian Deepa Malik, who was earlier president, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the government's support when the suspension was revoked.
