  • In a significant step towards enhancing empowerment and skill development of Persons with Disabilities, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council for Skill Development in Electronics Sector. With an aim to equip differently abled people with special skills required in various types of jobs in the electronics sector, the MoU was formalized on January 08, 2024 under the leadership of Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Secretary and Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
  • This landmark MoU marks a collaborative effort to develop human resources through vocational training in tune with the demands of the industry. By leveraging the expertise of ESSCI, this initiative aims to create pathways for sustainable livelihoods of persons with disabilities and boost a globally competitive workforce.
  • Under the terms of the MoU, the Indian Council for Electronics Sector Skill and National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) are committed to provide vocational training to persons with disabilities as per curriculum standards. Additionally, the Indian Electronics Sector Skill Council will facilitate linkages with potential employers and industrial networks to ensure seamless placement opportunities for trainees.
