  • Delhi's PM2.5 level in 2022 was 89.1 micrograms per cubic meter in 2022, which worsened to 92.7 micrograms per cubic meter in 2023. Delhi has been ranked the world's most polluted capital for the fourth consecutive time since 2018, according to a report by Swiss group IQ Air.
  • India had the third worst air quality in 2023 after Bangladesh and Pakistan, as noted in a report by Swiss group IQ Air.
  • According to the report, about 1.36 billion people in India were exposed to PM 2.5, which is one of the main causes of air pollution.
  • According to the World Air Quality Report of Swiss organization IQAir, the capital Delhi is the most polluted, while India is third in the list of polluted countries.
