The central government appointed Ajay Seth, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), as the additional Secretary for the Department of Revenue, following Tuhin Kanta Pandey's appointment as SEBI Chairperson.
A 1987 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, Seth has been serving as DEA Secretary since April 2021 and brings over three decades of experience in public finance, tax policy, foreign investments, and development financing.
