Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti became the first European woman to take over the command of the International Space Station.
She took over from Russia's Oleg Artemyev, who gave her a symbolic key to hand over command.
Cristoforetti will be the fifth European commander of the International Space Station. She began her mission in April 2022.
She holds the record for the longest stay in space by a woman after spending 199 days in orbit in 2014 and 2015.
