  • Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has become the highest paid athlete in the world, with a move to Al-Nassr nearly doubling his salary, according to Forbes.
  • Ronaldo joined the Saudi Arabian club in January after leaving Manchester United last year.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the Forbes highest paid athlete list with USD 136 million. 
  • It is followed by Lionel Messi in second place with 130 million US dollars. Forbes calculates earnings estimates based on prize money, salaries, bonuses and sponsorship deals.
  • His on-field earnings are $46 million and off-field earnings are $90 million.
  • Forbes' on-field earnings figures include all prize money, salaries and bonuses earned between May 1, 2022, and May 1, 2023.
