Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have officially decided to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), citing bias against poor and developing nations and the court’s failure to effectively address serious crimes. The three countries plan to establish local “indigenous peace and justice systems.” International human rights organizations have expressed concern, viewing this move as a serious challenge to global justice and human rights protection.
