  • A buffalo gave birth to a calf using artificial insemination for the first time in India (IVF).
  • This is a bunny-breed buffalo.
  • Six IVF inseminations from the bunny breed buffalo resulted in the first IVF calf.
  • Three buffaloes of the Bunny breed were prepped for insemination by Vinay L.Vala's scientists at Sushila Agro Farms in Dhanej, Gujarat's Somnath district.
  • The goal of using this approach to give birth to buffalo calves is to increase the number of genetically good buffaloes so that milk output can grow as well.
  • The ability of the bunny buffalo to produce more milk even in a dry climate is well-known.
