The 1989-batch IAS officer Brajesh Mehrotra was on Saturday appointed as new chief secretary of Bihar, replacing Amir Subhani (1987-batch) who has applied for voluntary retirement from the government job to enable his appointment as the chairperson of a state-level commission.
Mehrotra's distinguished career includes serving as the additional chief secretary of revenue and land reforms, chief information commissioner, and holding additional responsibilities in general administration and parliamentary affairs, showcasing his multifaceted expertise.
His appointment as chief secretary, effective from March 4th, follows a succession plan, with Mehrotra set to succeed the incumbent chief secretary, Amir Subhani, who is due to retire in April.
