The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has launched a new initiative, BHARATI (Bharat’s Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement and Incubation for Export Enablement) to strengthen India’s agri-food exports. Conceived as part of APEDA’s vision to achieve $50 billion agri-food exports by year 2030, BHARATI will empower 100 agri-food and agri-tech startups through acceleration, innovation support, and export enablement. The initiative will promote high-value categories including GI-tagged products, organic foods, superfoods, livestock items, AYUSH products and novel processed Indian foods, while also supporting advanced technologies such as AI-based quality control, blockchain traceability, IoT-enabled cold chains and agri-fintech.
