Badminton Association of India's Joint Secretary Omar Rashid has been appointed as chair of the Technical Officials Committee by Badminton Asia for the next two years.
As Chair of the Technical Officials Committee, Omar Rashid will oversee the development and implementation of rules and regulations, elevating the standards of officiating in badminton tournaments nationwide.
Omar Rashid is also the General Secretary of the Assam Badminton Association and is connected with the badminton administration for more than two decades now.
Rashid’s appointment is expected to benefit badminton in the region and bring further attention to the sport’s growth and development.
The Badminton Asia is the governing body of badminton in Asia.
It is one of the 5 continental bodies under the flag of the Badminton World Federation.
The confederation was established in 1959, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It aims to maintain Asia as the benchmark for world badminton in many years to come.
