· To boost tea production in Assam, the state government will set up a tea park at Chaigaon in Kamrup district of the state.
· Rajya Sabha member Kamakhya Prasad Tasa said that tea, the official state drink of Assam, is going to complete 200 years of its existence in 2023.
· On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence of 75 Years of Indian Independence, Tea Board of India; Directorate General of International Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Trade, India and Industry Authority, State Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises Division has organized a two day 'Vanjya Utsav and Mega Export Conclave' from 21-22 September in Guwahati.
