  • Ireland seamer Arlene Kelly has won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for August 2023 for her excellent recent form.
  • Kelly beat Netherlands youngster Iris Zwilling and Malaysia all-rounder Ainna Hamizah Hashim for the coveted monthly award, following impressive individual efforts with the ball during the month.
  • The right-arm was at her brilliant best during Ireland’s three-match T20I series against the Netherlands as she collected 10 wickets at a miserly average of just 4.30 to help her side claim an emphatic 3-0 series sweep.
  • This is the fourth-best bowling average in a bilateral series where a bowler has taken 10 or more wickets and was also just the second time in women’s T20Is that a bowler had taken 10 or more scalps in a bilateral series of three or fewer games.
