·         The government has announced that Air Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary will be the next Indian Air Force chief.

·         He will succeed Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria, who is retiring from service on 30 September.

·         Air Marshal Choudhary, who took over as the deputy chief on July 1, has over 3,800 hours of flying experience on a wide variety of fighter and trainer aircraft, including missions flown during Operation Meghdoot and Operation Safed Sagar.
