· The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Bangladesh inked a credit deal for USD 400 million for the development of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bangladesh's northeast economic corridor to boost road safety, mobility, and regional trade.
· The USD 400 million is the first installment of a USD 1.78 billion finance facility sanctioned by ADB for the Dhaka-Sylhet Road investment project of the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC).
· The project is a major component of the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) program's Road Corridor No. 5.
