  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of $200 million for the development of climate and disaster-resilient sewage and drainage infrastructure in Kolkata. 
  • This funding is part of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation's Sustainability, Cleanliness, and Stability (Sector) project, aimed at reducing urban flooding and unsanitary conditions, particularly to improve the health of women and children.
