Abhay Thakur, a senior diplomat and officer on special duty in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Myanmar.
Thakur, a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), brings with him extensive experience, having previously served as sous-sherpa of the G20 process during India's presidency of the influential bloc.
