  • The cabinet has approved the Chief Minister's Single Women Self-Employment Scheme for single women in Uttarakhand. Under the scheme, such women will be able to start self-employment by taking loans of up to two lakh rupees. 
  • They will receive 75 percent of this amount or one and a half lakh rupees as a subsidy. The government will bear this amount. For this, the government has arranged a fund of 30 crore rupees.
  • The objective of this scheme is to connect single women with self-employment while empowering them economically with social security. 
  • In the first year, the target is to benefit at least two thousand women under this scheme.
