  • The 67th National Film Awards ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu honored the winners with Swarna Kamal and Rajat Kamal, Shawl and prize money. The 67th National Film Awards were announced in March 2021.
  • Superstar Rajinikanth was honored with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
  • 'Chhichhore' won the Best Hindi Film Award.
  • Actress Kangana Ranaut won the best actress award for Manikarnika and Panga. This is her fourth National Award.
  • Manoj Bajpayee received the Best Actor Award for 'Bhonsle'. Along with him, South's superstar Dhanush also received the Best Actor Award for 'Asuran'.

Important Facts 

About Dadasaheb Phalke Award

  • The Government of India established the Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1970 to honour extraordinary contributions to the cause of cinema. The prize is named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, India's first feature film Raja Harischandra, which he directed in 1913. A Swarna Kamal, a cash prize of Rs.1,000,000, and a shawl are included in the prize. Devika Rani received the prize for the first time in 1969, making her the first woman to receive it. Prithviraj Kapoor was the first person to get the Dada Saheb Phalke Award posthumously.
