  • 3rd Khelo India University games started with the Kabaddi event in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
  • 15 teams of different universities are taking part in this event, for which the matches are being held at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik stadium in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. 
  • Around 1200 players of different universities are taking part in events related to games like Basketball, weight lifting, Boxing and Kabaddi which will be held here in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
  • The official inauguration ceremony will be held on 25th May in Lucknow in which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part virtually.
  • The khelo India University games will continue till 3rd June and the closing ceremony will be held in Varanasi.
  • Around 4,000 athletes from various institutions will feature in this exciting event in the hunt for various medals across 21 sports. The whole event will be hosted jointly by Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi.
