The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a short notification for CEN 09/2025, announcing approximately 22195 vacancies for Group D (Level-1) posts. Due to a recent revision, the application process has been postponed by 10 days and will now begin at the end of January, offering opportunities for 10th pass/ITI holders with a focus on online application at rrbapply.gov.in.

The RRB Group D (CEN 09/2025) recruitment is a major national-level drive to fill approximately 22195 Level-1 vacancies in Indian Railways, including posts like Track Maintainer and Pointsman. According to the latest revised notice, the online application window open from January 31 to March 2, 2026. Candidates who have passed Class 10 or hold an ITI certificate are eligible to apply, provided they are between 18 and 33 years of age (with applicable relaxations). The selection process features a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by physical and medical evaluations. Successful candidates will enter the 7th CPC pay matrix with an initial basic pay of ₹18,000 plus allowances.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) OR hold an ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) OR a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:
a. Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest,
Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
b. General Intelligence and reasoning:
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations,Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency,
Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
c. General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level(CBSE).
d. General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.
Note: It may be noted that the topics listed above are illustrative and not necessarily exhaustive.
Mode of Selection:
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories:
• UR/EWS - 40%
• OBC (Non-creamy layer) - 30%
• SC/ST - 30%.
*These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.*
Shortlisting of Candidates for various stages shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them whenever CBT is conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus. The normalization scheme to be adopted for shortlisting the candidates from CBT to PET (as applicable) and for document verification.

All Category Female : 250/-
Note: - Out of this fee of Rs 500 an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT.
For PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class full ₹250 refunded after appearing in CBT.
Note:- This fee of Rs 250 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable only on appearing in CBT.

Aadhaar Update: Ensure your Aadhaar details (Name and DOB) match your Class 10 certificate exactly, as Aadhaar-based authentication is mandatory.
1- Visit Portal: Go to rrbapply.gov.in starting January 31, 2026.
2- Registration: Create an account using a valid mobile number and email ID.
3- Fill Details: Enter personal, educational, and category details.
4- Payment: Pay the application fee online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit card, or UPI.
5- Uploads: Scanned photograph and signature must meet the specific dimensions in the notification.
6- Submit: Review all entries and submit. Keep a printout of the confirmation page.
