World Vegetarian Day is celebrated every year on 1 November to encourage vegetarianism.
World Vegetarian Day is celebrated by vegetarian community and organization people across the world.
The main objective of this day is to increase people's interest in vegetarian food.
On this day people are encouraged to abstain from non-vegetarian food and reduce killing of animals.
This day was first celebrated in England in the year 1994.
The International Vegetarian Society was established in the year 1908.
The first Vegetarian Society was started in the year 1944.
Many studies prove that a vegetarian or vegan diet can reduce the risk of heart disease and some types of cancer.
It may also reduce the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Many celebrities have joined the growing trend of abandoning non-vegetarian food and adopting vegetarianism or veganism.
