  • World Television Day is observed on November 21 every year.
  • The United Nations General Assembly declared November 21 as World Television Day in its (resolution 51/205 of 17 December 1996).
  • The United Nations held its first World Television Forum on 21 and 22 November 1996, where leading media figures discussed the growing importance of television in today's changing world.
  • Television was invented in 1924 by John Logie Baird.
  • Ever since television was introduced in 1959, it has made a huge impact on Indian culture. The UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization assisted India with the launch of television. For the first thirty years, Doordarshan was the only national broadcaster.
