World Television Day is observed on November 21 every year.
The United Nations General Assembly declared November 21 as World Television Day in its (resolution 51/205 of 17 December 1996).
The United Nations held its first World Television Forum on 21 and 22 November 1996, where leading media figures discussed the growing importance of television in today's changing world.
Television was invented in 1924 by John Logie Baird.
Ever since television was introduced in 1959, it has made a huge impact on Indian culture. The UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization assisted India with the launch of television. For the first thirty years, Doordarshan was the only national broadcaster.
