  • According to the recent decision, the first advanced pediatric center of Uttar Pradesh will be established in Lucknow.
  • The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has endorsed the proposal to set up the state's inaugural Advanced Pediatric Centre.
  • This center will be established at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow.
  • This specialized medical unit is currently lacking in any institute or medical college in the state.
  • Its estimated cost is around Rs 200 crore.
  • According to the plan, S.G.P.G.I. Will set up an advanced pediatric centre.
  • It will have more than 20 departments and 6 units, with a total capacity of 575 beds.
