  • According to the recent announcement, Tata Group will become the first Indian company in the country to manufacture Apple's iPhone.
  • Tata Group has recently decided to buy the Bangalore plant of iPhone manufacturing company Wistron in India.
  • This deal has been done for approximately Rs 1000 crore.
  • The board of directors of Wistron Corp has approved this acquisition.
  • Taiwanese company Wistron entered the Indian market in 2008, when the company used to provide repair facilities for many devices.
  • After this, in the year 2017, the company expanded its operations and started production of iPhone for Apple.
  • After the acquisition of Tata Group, production of iPhone will start in 2.5 years.
