Recently Odisha Government has launched 'Ama Bank'

  • Recently the Government of Odisha has launched 'Ama Bank' for financial inclusion.
  • This bank scheme was launched by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
  • Its objective is to provide banking services through Customer Service Points (CSP) plus banking outlets.
  • Under this, those 4,373 gram panchayats will be covered where banking services are not available.
  • Banking facilities in all these gram panchayats will be completed by March 2024.
  • These outlets will provide 15 banking services.
  • Through this, a system will be developed to provide doorstep services to the elderly, disabled persons and pregnant women.
  • The government will provide rent-free banking space for five years.
