Naval exercise Malabar of Quad countries started in Japan

  • India is participating in 26th International Malabar Naval Exercise in Yokosuka of Japan. Australia, Japan and the USA are also participating in the Malabar Naval Exercise.
  • Indian Naval Ships Shivalik and Kamorta are ready to demonstrate at the event.
  • The MALABAR exercise was initiated in 1992 between the navies of India and the United States.
  • It started as a bilateral drill between the Indian Navy and the US Navy in the Indian Ocean. Japan became a permanent member of the exercise in 2015.
