International Day of Neutrality is celebrated every year on 12 December.
The day is observed with the aim of increasing public awareness about the importance of neutrality in international relations and promoting the use of preventive diplomacy.
The day was officially proclaimed by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in February 2017.
This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2018.
Its sixth edition is being celebrated in the year 2023.
To refrain from involvement with any state in war or tension between two or more nations and to be impartial towards all parties.
The situation arising from recognizing impartiality is called neutrality.
A great example of neutrality is Switzerland, which chose to remain neutral during both world wars.
