Haryana Declares 4,400-Year-Old Sites in Bhiwani as Protected Monuments

  • The Haryana government has declared two sites in Bhiwani district—Tighrana and Mitathal—as protected monuments and archaeological sites. These sites are over 4,400 years old and linked to the Sindhu-Saraswati civilisation.
  • Under the Haryana Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1964, a 10-acre area in Mitathal will be preserved, as announced by the Heritage and Tourism Department on 13 March 2025.
