On 2nd October 2025, India celebrated the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with deep reverence, inspiration, and social awareness. While the day is observed as Gandhi Jayanti across India as a national holiday, it has also been recognized by the United Nations as the International Day of Non-Violence since 2007. Gandhi Jayanti marks the birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, famously known as ‘Bapu,’ the leader of India’s freedom struggle. Gandhi’s principles of truth, non-violence, and public engagement made him a global symbol of peace, tolerance, and resistance to oppression. Through movements like Satyagraha, he not only led India to independence from British rule but also inspired human rights movements worldwide. Gandhi Jayanti and International Day of Non-Violence not only honor the Father of the Nation but also reaffirm a global commitment to peace, unity, and harmony.
National Conference on Land Administration and Disaster Management in Gandhinagar highlighted digitisation, citizen-centric governance, and disaster resilience.
