Defence Acquisition Council approves ₹67,000 crore worth of procurement to boost military readiness:

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has cleared procurement proposals worth around ₹67,000 crore to enhance India’s defence capabilities. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) was granted for the Indian Army to acquire Thermal Imager-based Driver Night Sight for BMP amphibious infantry fighting vehicles, improving night mobility and operational advantage. For the Navy, approvals include the procurement of Compact Autonomous Surface Craft for anti-submarine warfare threat detection and neutralisation, BrahMos Fire Control Systems and launchers, and upgrades to the BARAK-1 point defence missile system.
