Cyclone Montha has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and is likely to make landfall between Kakinada, Machilipatnam, and Kalingapatnam along the Andhra coast. Wind speeds are expected to reach 90–100 km/h, gusting up to 110 km/h. Authorities in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have issued high alerts and evacuated over 50,000 people to safe shelters.
