Cabinet Approves 'National Critical Mineral Mission' to build a resilient Value Chain for critical mineral resources vital to Green Technologies, with an outlay of Rs.34,300 crore over seven years

  • The National Mission on Critical Minerals (NCM) has been launched by the Government of India with an expenditure of ₹16,300 crores, which will cover all stages of the mineral sector's value chain, including mineral exploration, mining, processing, and recycling. 
  • The objective of this mission is to enhance self-reliance in critical minerals in India and to encourage public and private sector companies to acquire and trade in foreign mineral resources.
