BSNL to launch indigenous 4G services across India in August

  • BSNL is set to launch nationwide 4G services in August, leveraging completely indigenous technology. This move highlights India's progress in developing advanced telecom infrastructure domestically.
  • BSNL officials have reported peak speeds of 40-45 megabits per second (Mbps) on the 4G network during testing. This indicates a promising user experience with reliable and high-speed internet connectivity across the country.
  • TCS, Tejas Networks, and government-owned ITI have secured contracts worth Rs 19,000 crore from BSNL for deploying the 4G network, which is also designed to be upgradable to 5G. 
  • These partnerships signify collaborative efforts to enhance India's telecommunications capabilities through public-private cooperation.
